University Alumni Entrepreneurial Market

The median and average age of an entrepreneur are certainly not startling to me as I started my first company when I was 34 years old, with 4 kids and one on the way. The drive was to take control of my own destiny. Working for for larger companies with no upside reaching a tiring level.

Now I teach entrepreneurship at UC Berkeley and when I presented that if the average age of an entrepreneur was 34, then the sweet spot for our university to market entrepreneurial programs was in our alumni organization. Starting a program that would tap into this demographic remains a fact, but alas, the energy to focus here is not attractive enough to the current faculty.

Someone will figure this out and put together a program to address this huge existing opportunity.
